Spiced Ginger Tea

Posted by: Shelby Kinnaird / Drinks / February 6, 2013

Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

During the winter, I often enjoy a warm beverage after dinner. Usually I just pick a decaf tea bag out of my vast collection. When I saw this recipe in Prevention, I decided to give it a try.

Spiced Ginger Tea

Ginger has many positive effects on the body, especially when it comes to digestion. It helps break down proteins and fat in the stomach and intestines which alleviates gas and bloating. It stimulates the flow of blood throughout the body. Ginger can also help lessen feelings of stomach upset and nausea.

If you are having any digestive issues, try a cup of this tea after your evening meal.

Thanks for this! I have found that a hot drink like coffee or tea will curb my cravings when I get home from work. Use your holiday mulling spices this way – whole spices without sugar, of course!

We don’t have much of a winter here in SoCal. Looking forward to building a fresh new spice pantry.

I have made ginger tea for ever, but never thought to add the other spices.
Can’t wait to try. Sounds like perfection.

Thanks, Lindsay! Let me know what you think. There’s nothing better than to curl up with some of this tea and a good book on a winter afternoon.

This sounds perfect, I love a cup of tea after supper but I don’t think I’ve tried ginger before.
