Skinny Vanilla Almond Latte with @DonTomasCoffee

Green tea is my hot beverage of choice most of the time, but every once in a while, I crave coffee. Sometimes I want a cappuccino after a restaurant dinner when everyone else is having dessert. Sometimes I want a latte when I meet a client in a coffee shop. And sometimes I just want a cup of coffee when I’m eating a big Southern-style breakfast. It just seems wrong to have green tea with ham and eggs.
Since I’ve reduced my caffeine consumption, I get really jazzed when I drink a cup or two of regular coffee. Why don’t I drink decaf? Because it just doesn’t taste as good to me. When I drink coffee, I want it to have a robust flavor, some caffeine (but not too much) and I want it to be smooth.
Enter Sundown blend from Don Tomas Coffee . It has half the caffeine of regular coffee and a strong enough taste that it can substitute for espresso in drinks such as lattes. I gave a sample of Sundown to some coffee-loving friends of mine to try. “The coffee is smooth and easy to drink and it’s more flavorful than what we drink now,” they said. Want to try some for yourself? See details on the giveaway below.
One thing I really like about Don Tomas, the company, is that they give back to their community. The Tomas farm in Jinotega, Nicaragua provides schools and health care services to their farmers’ families.
I tried my Sundown coffee straight up and in a healthier latte that comes from Karriann at Creative Cooking Corner . For you regular espresso drinkers out there, this coffee may not be strong enough for you, but it was perfect for me.
I’m giving away a 12 ounce bag of Don Tomas Sundown coffee. To enter, leave a comment and tell me your favorite way to enjoy coffee. For a second entry, like Don Tomas on Facebook and come back here and tell me you’ve done so. The contest will run through Friday, November 9, 2012. The winner will be chosen at random on Saturday, November 10, 2012. You must be at least 18 years of age with a U.S. mailing address to win. No purchase is necessary; void where prohibited. The winner will be notified by email and must respond within 24 hours or another winner may be selected. (Please make sure email from firstname.lastname@example.org doesn’t end up in your spam folder.)
Disclaimer: I received a free bag of Sundown coffee from Don Tomas plus a second bag to give away. All opinions are my own.
